An attraction in the Gisborne area you can’t miss, is the Tolaga Bay Wharf. The Tolaga Bay Wharf is a 660m long pier in the Tolaga Bay. With that size, it is the biggest pier in New Zealand and probably the biggest pier outside a harbor on the southern hemisphere.
On the end of the Tolaga Bay Wharf you will find some benches to enjoy the wonderful ocean view. The walk itself is really easy and is also accessible by wheelchair. But due to a lack of shade you shouldn’t forget your sunscreen.
